The property is stunning—our kids loved the creek, and we played soccer and whiffle ball in the yard. Super close to downtown Boone too. Andrew and his family live above the space but are incredibly accommodating and give you total privacy—hands down the best host you'll find. And checkout? The easiest ever. No endless list of chores. (Please note the siding is being redone on the farmhouse in front of the cottage so there will be construction noise at times) This farm cottage is located on a historic 40 acre farmstead behind a beautiful farmhouse (which is under renovation) with views of The Peak, Ashe County’s highest mountain. We are bordering Elk Knob State Park and a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. The farm is located in the historic Sutherland valley district and was built in 1807 by Thomas Sutherland.
