Country relaxing with shade! 1 of 3 newer cabins at our camp and it sleeps 9. 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a twin over full bunk bed, king pull-out couch, blow-up queen mattress, bedding, full bathroom with tub/shower, full kitchen/appliances, A/C, heat, k-cup coffee pot, coffee, water, dining/living room, wifi, Roku TV, large front porch with 4 chairs/tables, parking, picnic table, charcoal grill. It is in the Courtyard area, with access to the main campfire ring for use.

The Texian Cabin

Enjoy a unique 1700 sqft Texas themed log cabin in the woods! This 1.5 story home, located on a small family farm, has three bed rooms and two bathrooms with an open living room, dining area and kitchen. Toast marshmallows under the stars, grill burgers on the fire pit, play horseshoes or corn hole, lead your own yoga with our goats, collect eggs from the chickens, relax in a hammock, play tetherball, wander the woods, or head inside and dance to classic Texas country on the record player.

This is a great place to relax and unwind while enjoying the beautiful sunset and sunrise at the lake in Sam Houston National Forest with the geese, the ducks, and the birds, and keeping an eye out for the deer enjoying the lake. There's plenty of yard for your furbabies to enjoy. There's lots of scenery on the drive to the cottage (forests, wildlife, lakes, countryside, wineries, farms, wedding venues, etc.); you never know what you can capture, so bring your camera.

There's lots of scenery (forests, wildlife, lakes, countryside, etc.); you never know what you can capture, so bring your camera!

Our tiny 1920s cottage was built in the historic Heights neighborhood, northeast of downtown Houston. I purchased it from the great grandson of the original owner in 2010 and moved it to where it now resides. It has since been renovated, but the structure and interior walls haven’t changed. You won’t find painted sheetrock, but instead you will see the original boards, full of flaws and lots of character.
