Locus Amoenus bietet ein außergewöhnliches Schlafzimmer unter einem 'Gewölbedach' aus behauenem Stein (Zustellmöglichkeit für 2 weitere Betten) neben einem modernen Badezimmer mit Dusche, WC und Bidet. Der Preis für eine Übernachtung (2 Personen) beträgt incl. Frühstück, Handtücher, Bettwäsche, Zimmerreinigung und W-Lan. Das Frühstück, immer inclusive einer hausgemachten Süßigkeit wie Kuchen, wird von Gabriella und Silvia entweder in der liebevoll eingerichteten Küche oder, bei schönem Wetter, im Garten unter einem majestätischen Persimonenbaum serviert. Das kleine Dorf Pompegnino liegt 5 Kilometer entfernt der reizvollen kleinen Stadt Salò und dem Gardasee, einem der schönsten Seen Italiens. In weniger als 2 Stunden erreichen Sie von uns aus die 'Dolomiti di Brenta' - ideal für alle, die gerne wandern und spazierengehen. Liebhaber großer Kunst erreichen von Pompegnino aus bequem die wundervollen Schätze die Verona (60 km), Venedig (170 km), Brescia (30 km), Bergamo (82 km), Mantova (75 km) und Cremona (85 km) zu bieten haben. Ein Fährservice (Navigarda) verbindet die beiden Seiten des Gardasees miteinander. Von Salò oder Gardone Riviera erreicht man die malerischen Orte auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Sees entweder gemütlich per Panoramafahrt mit einem Ausflugsdampfer, oder aber zeitsparend mit einem Tragflächenboot. Pompegnino selbst bietet auch einen Radweg von 50 km Länge, über den nicht nur die Stadt Brescia, sondern auch der Garda- und Idrosee erreicht werden können. Ideal also, um die idyllische italienische Landschaft zu genießen. Für die alltäglichen Besorgungen gibt es in etwa 700 Metern Entfernung von unserem Haus 2 Supermärkte, eine Apotheke, ein Bekleidungsgeschäft und zwei Pizzerien; ansonsten, neben anderen Annehmlichkeiten, einen Park mit Spielplatz, eine Benediktinerkirche, eine Bar/Kiosk/Tabak-Shop und die renommierte Klinik für Akupunktur. Typisch italienische Backwaren wie wunderbare Focaccia, Brot und Pizza gibt es täglich frisch und hausgemacht in der örtlichen Bäckerei!

The Walnut Tree B & B is located in Zana, a hamlet in the upper part of Abbadia Lariana on the eastern shore of Lake Como. We are one hour away from Milan, 2 and a half km away from Mandello del Lago and 3 km away from Abbadia Lariana. If you arrive by train, we can pick you up by car from the train station of Mandello or Abbadia Lariana. The part of the house given over to the B&B has been sensitively restored and has the character of an old country house, complete with a balcony with views over the lake. The two rooms have private bathrooms. In summer you can have your breakfast served on the terrace in the garden. A few kilometers away is the town of Varenna, where boats depart for the lake. The whole area is known for the famous mountain "Grigna", a wonderful place for walking and climbing. If you enjoy motorcycles, be sure to visit the museum of Guzzi motorcycle. Abbadia is the perfect place to swim: there are no private homes that overlook the beautiful beach.
