Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located in a wooded cul-de-sac, privacy and nature abound. The home is also situated on a deer path. Watch families of deer migrate to the east in the morning and return West in the early evening. Blue Heron fish in the backyard creek. The creek is also used for kayaking to Lake George in Hobart. Try your hand at fishing. Blue gill, crappy and carp have been caught from those waters. Service dogs will be charged $ 75.00 cleaning fee.

"Barn" turned into a guesthouse on 4 acres of owners residential property where you will enjoy peace and quiet, take a walk on trails through 2 acres of woods, take a short drive to Lake Michigan or the Indiana Dunes National Park or just sit inside at an electric fireplace. We are located 5.9 miles (approximately 12 minutes) from the Dunes National Park. Second STR available on same property that also sleeps 5 people if you have a group!

Tiny Home on Organic Veggie Farm

Place yourself right in the beauty of the land and nature in this cozy tiny home at Perkins' Good Earth Farm. The tiny home has a loft bedroom, bathroom with shower and composting toilet, kitchen, sitting area, and deck. You'll be surrounded by organic vegetable fields, 11 acres of woods, walking trails--and within perfect view of both the sunrise and sunset. You'll also have easy access to our farm store where you'll find fresh fruits & veggies, homemade soups & salads and so much more.

Private Cottage in Gated Nudist Community

We offer a private cottage on the grounds of Lake O the Woods Club. Cottage has Queen size bed, air conditioning, heater, refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee maker, work/dining area, private deck and porta-potty. Payment of club daily grounds fee ($30-$60) is optional . Pricing on club website. There is no running water in the cottage. Bathrooms, showers, hot tub, sauna and swimming pool are available at the clubhouse and pool area after payment of grounds fees.

The Loft at Virgie

You don't have to be born in a barn to vacation in one. Trade in the city for millions of stars in the night sky! As you enter thru the French doors you will be greeted by an open concept room decorated with a barn/industrial motif. Knotty pine car-siding and galvanized steel, wood floors along with a reclining leather couch and love seat fill the room A full kitchen with granite counter tops await you. There is plenty of natural lighting for the evenings.

Private guest house newly remodeled. One bedroom queen bed, bath w/shower, full kitchen stocked, including microwave and Keurig coffee maker pods included, family room TV, and WIFI. No matter if you are in town for work, sport competition, family or just vacationing we offer all the comforts of home. Air Mattress available upon request. Please treat as your own home, follow all house rules. No party or gatherings. This is a no smoking home.

Flint Lake Cottage.

This is a rustic cottage with old world charm. There are 2 fireplaces,. The home sits on a hill overlooking the channel that leads to Flint Lake. - Pet free -May not be appropriate for people with mobility issues. - Earth friendly cleaning products - Private beach & park access - Easy access to city center & university - One hour from downtown Chicago - National Lakeshore and Dunes State Park nearby - Wood fireplaces (winter only!)
