The name “Hartso” (in greek: Χαρτσό), derived from the word Copper (in greek: Χαλκός) has been maintained for this house to date by the residents of the village, because of its initial use as forge in the late 1800s. Its Architecture has the characteristics of the traditional single-room with swirling arch houses of Rhodes, with fireplace and a wooden “paga” (i.e. traditional bench).
