  • The place was great. location was super convenient, we walked to town and only had to move the car to go to Blue Ridge. The atmosphere is just as described. Brett's place feels like it was designed by a traveler, it has stuff a traveler would need plus comfort. My last note is the bed, that is one comfortable bed damn! wish I had that at home. Coming in from a 12 hour drive the first night and a hike + brewery tour in the second it was just what we needed.

    Abigail2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about Brett's place! This cute, cozy space was just what we needed for our quick visit to Asheville. I only wish we'd had more time to explore.

  • Brett provided an amazing, relaxing stay for us. The space was so clean and had amenities that included a coffee maker, hot water kettle, umbrellas, Asheville brochures, a taste of Asheville beer, and a few small breakfast items. The room was so cozy, perfectly clean, and nice and quiet. We had a delightful stay and would recommend highly to others.

Dragonfly Cottage built in 1905 is vintage Asheville boarding house, mix of modern (completely updated) and old. Walking distance to Brewery"s, or downtown shops and restaurants. Downtown neighborhood can be loud. Some people are not prepared for noise and street people. Sweet front flower garden, large front porch, and front parlor available to guest at all times. Old dog Levi is now confined to back of the house, host living quarters and back yard, not trustworthy around guest.
Couple or singles get away! Nice old world bedrooms. Two rentals up stairs this one is on the front of house with private bath across the hall. The other rental is Dragonfly Cottage II on back of house with ensuite bath. Both have comfortable queen size beds. Bathrooms completely updated. Local art displayed to create a mix of old and new. Pease ask about the artist. Parlor room downstairs available for those that can't sleep (not wanting to disturb partner) and/or want a place to sit, and read. Have a bourbon before retiring, a southern tradition!
This is a downtown transitional neighborhood with 24/7 activity. Grocery, art's theater, restaurants, brewery's are all right down the street. Friday night drum circle is a must in Asheville.
  • Great stay! Loved the coffee in the mornings :)

    Julie2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Paula should be considered a Superhost! Dragonfly Cottage is one of the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at! A very nice remodeled home that is clean and comfortable, the home is just a short drive to everything, including Biltmore, which is a must see while you are in town! Paula is a wonderful host with great recommendations! We look forward to being back!

    David2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect weekend in Asheville in a perfect spot with a perfect host! Paula gave us the BEST tips for great meals, brewery visits and sight seeing. Being cold from the North was so nice to sit on the front porch in the sun and warm up!

    Amanda2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Paula was a wonderful host! She was easy to get in touch with when needed! The house was beautiful and she offered a coffee bar, fresh fruit, mini fridge, cereal, milk and half/half on the upstairs landing. It was perfect since the kitchen was private. Very accommodating! The bathroom had plenty of towels that were of high quality. Toiletries were also supplied to use in the shower. Just as a note, there isn't central AC BUT, a window AC unit that met our needs in the bedroom. We were plenty cool at night and the exhaust fan sucked up any extra heat on the upstairs landing during the day. My husband and I had a wonderful time. We were in walking distance to bars and Uber-d about for around $6.

    Megan2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paula's house is beautiful and is in a great location for walking to many of the breweries and shops downtown. The special touches she provides (coffee bar, light breakfast, beautiful soaps) made our visit feel much more personal than a hotel could offer. Her suggestions for food and activities were spot on. We will try to stay at the Dragonfly cottage for our next visit to Asheville!

    Katie2018-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paula was a fantastic host, and the room is conveniently located within a short walk to most of the downtown hot spots. Her place felt like home as soon as we walked in. A+ experience, and would definitely recommend to others!

    Kyle2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paula’s place is in a great location to walk into town. It’s close to many breweries and restaurants. Inexpensive Uber ride if you don’t like hills! The house itself is lovely, with thoughtful touches like coffee, chocolate and Beer share in refrigerator. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely front porch to relax on and the neighborhood is fairly quiet. Paula knows the area well and gave as some excellent tips on hikes and food! We also got to go with her to feed her horses at the Biltmore!! Really cool. Asheville is a wonderful place and now we have found an equally wonderful place to stay when we go there!

    Kathy2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paula's place was a cozy and clean place to lay your head! She was super helpful with suggestions and extremely hospitable. Her house was walking distance from downtown which was great!

Indeed, this is a kind of wanderlust (and wonder-lust) completely and uniquely ours. Welcome to Asheville! Here, in remarkable downtown, College Street is one of the most historic-yet-hip addresses in the city – a promenade that straddles the ephemeral boundaries between old-world charm and modern style. And 120 College Street is at the center of it all: above the Black Mountain College Museum and overlooking the Jackson Building, across from Roger McGuire Green in front of City Hall and the County Building, and Pack Square Park with a large open green space on a slope leading to the main stage, three water features including a splash fountain and original art by regional artists. • The perfect location to everywhere in Asheville - easy walking, biking, and driving. The place was sparkling clean. We had everything we needed and more, including a nice bottle of wine.

  • The style and thoughtfulness of this condo is very well done. It was better than pictured. The location couldn’t be better for walking to local shops, eateries and breweries. The bed was very comfortable and the condo had all the necessary luxuries for relaxing and enjoying our time. It seemed as if they have thought of everything you could need while away. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

  • Great location in town- all of downtown is accessible on foot from here. The apartment is very clean and has everything you need to spend time in it and even make your own meals. The bed was really comfortable, bathroom was very nice and chairs comfy. The host was also quick to respond to our one question and we'd certainly stay again!

    Matt2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, walkable to everything downtown has to offer. The condo was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. Definitely recommend!

    Carly2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4th of July weekend and had a blast. The location of this apartment is great and in walking distance of everything you'd want to do in downtown Asheville. The apartment was very clean and the keypad entry is great so you don't need to worry about carrying keys around. As a host, Karen was very responsive to all questions we had leading up to the trip. We did have some issues with the WiFi being very spotty, though not to any fault of the hosts. Just something to be mindful of if you need to log onto a laptop/tablet at any time during your stay. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This was a perfect AirBNB; all the convenience of home (coffee pot, fridge, etc) and about a 15 minute walk to downtown dining, shopping, and amenities. My mom and I walked from downtown to the AirBNB late at night and felt very safe. The space also provided recommendations for dinner/drinks, making it very easy to plan our destinations in Asheville. I highly recommend this place.

If you want an in-town experience, this is it! Perfectly situated near downtown in a quiet historic neighborhood. Every element has been curated to create a special experience, including original artwork and hand-painted furniture, cotton linens & comfy bed. A beautiful en-suite bath has been designed for your convenience. Enjoy coffee, tea & snacks, while gazing at the backyard. A mini fridge, electric kettle, coffee maker & all the kitchenware is supplied. Guest wing with private entrance. Smoking only permitted outside. If you are bringing a pet, please ask for pet guidelines.
I have 2 airbnb rooms, that have very similar features and feel. So if this room does not have the availability you are seeking.. check out the other room, The Sweet Spot - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6503015. The Boutique Room is a nice size bedroom with private ensuite bathroom in a separate guest wing in back of the house. The most important things for me are: clean and fresh, nice ambiance (decor), firm cozy bed, with quality linens, hot water and good pressure in shower and an area you can make a snack, coffee or tea. The room is equipped with a small fridge, toaster oven, electric kettle and coffee maker some basics (condiments, tea, coffee) and utensils. Original art work enhances wall spaces. Air Conditioning for hot summer days. A table with 2 chairs, for hanging out. There are lots of great little extras. I am happy to stock granola, organic yogurt and milk, good coffee, fruit and if you have something you love, just ask! You have a semi-private entrance, so if you are out and about late, no worries. There is a true feeling of privacy in the back of the house. Green fenced in backyard with table and chairs to relax - smokers welcome outside. Your safety is important to me - Locks on guest doors, fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, safety card, motion sensor lights by entrances, and off street parking etc.. My driveway can accommodate 2 medium size SUV. If you have a very large SUV or truck you may have to park on street where there is typically ample parking. Only 3 blocks to town where you can enjoy many restaurants, breweries, galleries, shops , Asheville Yoga Studio (about 7 blocks) and more. Best of both worlds: close to the downtown, but quiet space when you are ready to relax. Dogs are welcome, but please check in with me BEFORE you book, so that I can send the pet rules to be sure you can abide by them. Fenced in yard for romping. We love animals. There is a $10 Pet fee per visit. I have tried to think of all the necessities, lots of conveniences, and many luxurious extras. I want you to feel at home and pampered. If there is something I missed, I am open to suggestions and requests. Most of the beautiful photos were taken by an Airbnb photographer with a wide angle lens that does distort the room size a bit.
This home is in the charming, historic Montford which has beautiful Victorian homes, tree-lined streets, and fabulous gardens. It is just three blocks to town, where there are cafes, music, and shopping.
  • Amazing! You can tell Lizzy really takes pride in this special room. An easy walk to downtown. Entering the property in the back was easy and we LOVED the motion sensor lights when we returned later at night. We felt very safe. The bathroom is so well done and the shower was fantastic. I didn't want to get out. Luxurious shampoo and conditioner plus body wash was so nice to have. The bedding was glorious and the furniture was beautiful. The curtains, light fixture, and snack cart were great touches. Must have the organic yogurt and milk Lizzy provided. It was delicious with the granola! Stay longer than 1 night!

  • Lizzy was a wonderful host. Lizzy's place is beautiful, clean, and convenient. It offers plenty of privacy and was an easy walk downtown. It's also in a beautiful neighborhood that we enjoyed strolling around. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Lizzy's place is cute, in a nice quiet neighborhood, easy walking distance to downtown. She provided milk, yogurt, granola, tea and coffee which was so nice. It's a very pleasant place to stay. There's a closet with hangers, and a couple of dresser drawers to put things in. If you need to use internet for work I would bring a hotspot. The internet was slow/intermittent at times.

    Christine2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stay at Lizzie’s every time we go to Asheville. The room is wonderful, clean, and an easy walk to everything!

  • Lizzy’s place was great for our 2 nights in Asheville. The room was very clean with a nice bathroom. The extra touches such as yogurt, tea and fresh flowers were wonderful. The location was great, easy to walk to downtown. Definitely recommend Lizzy’s place!

  • Lizzy is the consummate professional and a wonderful host!! We love staying at her place.

  • Walk to Downtown Asheville. Private backyard. Very spacious room with large private bath. Lizzy made my stay comfortable. Will stay again.

Good news! We manage three condos at the 120 College Street: The Gazette 200 (2BR), The Daily 201 (1BR), and The News 202 (1BR), with a total of 4 bedrooms to accommodate 8 guests. ☀☀☀ Antique-Chic DESIGN ☀☀☀ The Gazette Condo 200 at 120 College Street is a special place. It’s probably not like anything you have at home, but it is exactly the historic-yet-contemporary feel you seek in Asheville. It is historic. It is completely renovated. It is period-perfect. It is home. Or, a home-away-from-home, at least. Each of three properties, The Gazette Condo 200, The Daily Condo 201 and The News Condo 202 in the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street rises to 10-foot ceilings and blends select antiques with new pieces, modern furnishings with neutral tones, sleek lines with strategic pops of ebullient color. The white leather seating invites togetherness, the architectural walls dull outside sound, the kitchen is fully stocked, the West Elm dining table seats 8, the closets are custom, and the bathrooms are completely modernized. And you’ll sleep like a baby, thanks to custom drapes and blackout shades. This is where modern meets old world, and it couldn’t be any more Asheville. It’s the perfect complement to your historic downtown experience, complete with historic views over iconic downtown sights. ---------------------------------- ☀☀☀ A Piece of History ☀☀☀ There’s nothing quite so Ashville as staying in a living piece of history. Specifically, a living piece of history where local news writers and makers once plied their craft! We’ll tell you a little story. The 1880-1930 era was a pivotal time in Asheville’s history: This was the Gilded Age, a post-industrial and pre-Depression age that welcomed the railroad, grandiose living, urban development, and the creative minds of O. Henry, Thomas Wolfe, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and others. Asheville rode so high it almost side-stepped the Great Depression. Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street was originally built in 1914 for the Asheville Gazette (later, the Asheville Times), occupied 120 College Street until the 1930’s ————————————————— Fun fact: In 1929, Thomas Wolfe would forever immortalize this time in his highly autobiographical first novel “Look Homeward, Angel,” a coming-of-age story that mirrored his life in Asheville and experiences at his mother’s famous boardinghouse, Dixieland, "the most famous boardinghouse in American fiction.” Just two blocks north on Market Street is the restored Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site and welcomes visitors Tuesday-Saturday.
☀☀☀ Welcome ☀☀☀ Welcome to the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to the city’s first newspaper. Welcome to a historic building that still unfolds over original hardwood floors, five-panel doors, antique doorknobs, banisters, and railings. Welcome to a home-away-from home above a museum and a multi-level amazing view overlooking Pack Square Park. A downtown condo, footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops. Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it. Over 1,400 square-feet of historic space, The Gazette Condo 200 offers a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, neutral tones and bright pops of color, solid woods and airy windows, architectural touches and high design. This is everything you never knew you needed in your downtown Asheville experience. And indeed, downtown Asheville is here, RIGHT here. Walk out your door and you’re on College Street, the historic center of Asheville and jumping-off point for art walks and ghost tours, microbrew flights and year-round festivals, fine dining and museum-hopping. You’re in the middle of it all and exactly where you want to be. ---------------------------------- ☀☀☀ LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! ☀☀☀ Walk into the shadow of history (and of the iconic Jackson Building), and you immediately feel the pull: 120 College Street is a place where old meets new, where history blends seamlessly with today – where a contemporary patina adds depth to the monuments, parks, and stories that have resided here for more than a century. There are many seating areas surrounded by native trees and shrubs. This beautiful 6.5-acre public space is an extra amenity for visitors to relax and linger. This is Asheville history, respectfully updated for the 21st century. So, while Real Life may be about compromise – sacrifice This to get That – we believe that vacation should be a special time. This is when you get both This and That, no compromise required. The Gazette Condo 200 in the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. It embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike. Here’s what awaits: Dining: Asheville is a food-and-drink dream – there’s a reason Livability.com named us a Top 10 Foodie City! – and from 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to much of your must-eat list, including French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Curate, Sovereign Remedies, Twisted Laurel, Over Easy Cafe, City Bakery, Bouchon, Mela, and Rhubarb. Culture: There’s nothing quite like Asheville culture to put some pep in your step and some erudition in your life. Be sure to schedule stops at the Black Mountain College Museum (your downstairs neighbor!) and the Asheville Art Museum. Finally, don’t forget to checkout a show at The Orange Peel or The Grey Eagle! History: From 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to many of Asheville’s historic landmarks, including the Vance Memorial, Monument Corner, the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, and Asheville’s historic Flatiron Building, not to mention numerous statues, plaques, and monuments that commemorate the city’s past. Urban Trail Art & History Tour: Art and history lovers, walk into history on Asheville’s Urban Trail, a 1.7-mile walking tour home to 30+ stops at creative landmarks, public sculptures, dioramas, and more. It begins at Pack Place, almost at your front door! The renowned Blue Spiral 1 Gallery and Momentum Gallery are a couple of blocks away and the Black Mountain College Museum is right downstairs. Festivals: From Downtown After Five (once a month, in summer) and the Lexington Avenue Arts Fest, to Drum Circle and Art in the Park, downtown Asheville and the River Arts District are ripe with arts, culture, and creative pursuits.
  • This apartment was awesome!!!! We had two couples and it worked great having two levels of living. Everything downtown was in walking distance and parking on the street at night for free was easy. Then we got the parking app to pay for street parking when needed. Karen was great as a host and communicated with us when needed. Asheville is an awesome town and this apartment made the trip even more fun

  • Incredible, warm modern condo, right out of a magazine, right in the heart of downtown Asheville! Incredible light filled space, comfortable beds, spa like bathrooms, spacious kitchen for cooking and stocked with everything you need, very clean and new, easy to find, and all of the highlights of downtown are steps away. Parking was easy, but not free-daily lots all around for convenience. A destination AirBnB for us when we return to Asheville!

  • The location is great and I didn't take my car out of the public garage for several days. The condo is very stylish and all of the amenities were fantastic. The condo is very close to a busy fire station but didn't really bother us too much. Karen is a great host and you will really enjoy your stay.

  • Lovely, well-appointed, newly renovated space in a historic building that’s walking distance to most everything in Downtown AVL. Across the street from a nice park. If you like to cook, the kitchen has everything you need and plenty of space for several helpers. I especially enjoyed the drawer style cupboards. Very modern, well-organized and easy to use. I need these in my kitchen!! Beds are comfortable, nice linens, plenty of towels, etc. Hand soap is provided as is body wash, shampoo, conditioner in the showers. Closet is huge and has a washer dryer. I could definitely stay here long-term and be comfortable. Some points to note: There are A LOT of stairs, both to enter the second floor unit from the street and to both bedrooms on the third floor. I don’t know if there is access for disabled or not but I didn’t see any elevators. For smokers, you’d have to trek up and down the stairs to get outside to the street since there is no balcony or rooftop deck, etc. Parking is not provided nor close by. The adjacent lot is private and reserved for a law office. We parked in a garage a couple blocks away for about $25/day (I think). There is metered parking across the street but we couldn’t get the meter to work (screen was too dark to see). Typical parking situation for AVL, but worth noting. If you’re a light sleeper, be warned that the fire department is across the park from the building and they run very loud sirens pretty much around the clock. It’s so loud that I had to plug my ears if the windows were open and there were so many calls I thought they were running drills but Karen explained they are the busiest first responder team in the city. Would stay here again. Slept with Bose noise-cancelling headphones since the slightest noise wakes me. Most people likely not as sensitive.

A beautiful one-hundred year old Richard Sharp Smith historic home in Montford neighborhood. 3 blocks from the center of town, 5-15 minute walk to everything. Hot tub, high speed wi-fi and cable tv, outdoor spaces for relaxation, gourmet kitchen.
You will be staying in the "Blue Room". This is downstairs next to the "Green Room". Those two rooms share the Mauve bathroom. This home is a quick 5 minute walk from the center of downtown. This historic neighborhood is peaceful, yet only a short walk to all the fun activities downtown. Fantastic restaurants nearby, the Pritchard Park drum circle, the US Cellular Center, and St. Lawrence Basilica are only three blocks away. We are a 5 minute drive from UNCA.. You won't need to move your car once you are settled in, unless you decide to go to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village, 10 minutes away. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway, NC Arboretum, Folk Art Center and much more!
I love the beautiful old historic homes in this Montford neighborhood. My house dates from circa 1910, termed a "Victorian cottage", and built by Richard Sharp Smith. Many of the homes in the neighborhood date from the 1880's. This Victorian neighborhood was the first suburb of Asheville. It is very quiet and friendly. Lots of beautiful walking opportunities around the neighborhood.
  • Jeff was very hospitable and friendly and helpful. The price was great, the experience wasn't. On the positive, it is a good location for walking downtown and I wish we'd packed swim suits to use the hot tub, cuz it looked nice, as did their garden and porch. On the negative, it's an old house, no locks on the room doors, so we couldn't secure our possessions except to leave them in the car. I didn't feel we had any privacy; every noise including music lessons resonated from room to room so we felt we had to whisper in our room at night. Outside noise of cars passing, a hemp truck parked out front & planes flying over echoed in our room. Shared bathroom, an hour wait to use it in the morning. Curtains draped over a radiator seems like a fire hazard. While they offered us day-old blueberry muffins, this B&B didn't really do breakfast. I realize this is somebody's house, and I don't expect them to change it to suit every tenant, especially at their very reasonable price, but I don't see any mention of these things (with the exception of the shared bathroom) in the listing page, and I think they're worth considering. One more positive; my wife lost a ring, and they took the time to look for it for us after we'd checked out, which was very kind & considerate.

  • Rita and Jeff were informative and easy to talk to. They made there home and all its amenities available to us. Great experience.

    Fabian2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's home was welcoming and relaxing. We loved the garden, outdoor space, clean rooms and historic charm of the Victorian. Walking distance from great restaurants and breweries was a definite plus as well. No complaints, highly recommended.

    Alex2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Rita and Jeff. The home is absolutely beautiful and tucked away in a little neighborhood just north of downtown. We had planned to see a band downtown and found it was really easy to get there from the house, just about a 10 min walk (uphill, for any of you other Midwest folks who don't know what hills are). The rooms are beautiful and very quiet. It was a perfect night of rest for us. We will definitely be staying again when we get back to Asheville.

    Matthew2014-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were so upset that we actually left and had to find a nearby hotel. I made these reservations well in advance, as a surprise to celebrate my boyfriends 50th birthday. Two days before our check in day, I received an email from Rita saying that by the way she’s having a family birthday party that afternoon. This seemed odd to me since it was advertised as a quiet bed-and-breakfast get away, but at this point it was too late to make new reservations. When we arrived : the the house was filling up rapidly with people. We were quickly shown to our room and tried to rest for a bit before going out on the town. However the noise was unbearable: there were kids running around up and down the hallway outside our door, screaming children, loud conversations...etc. We were aware that we would be sharing a bathroom with the other room; however, this bathroom apparently was being used by all of the 20+ guests so we had to repeatedly wait in order to use it and to shower/get ready to go out. We left for dinner around 5:30 and returned around 8 o’clock to find at least half of the guests were still roaming around and being loud. We expected a quiet relaxing area to unwind and instead felt like we were at a frat party. Bottom line, a host should not plan a party with that many people on the same night that she rents out a room. This is unacceptable. Although she did offer to reimburse a portion of the fee, I definitely would not recommend staying here.

  • The gray inn is very clean and the location can not be beat. We had a blast walking around trying the restaurants, breweries, and shops. I highly recommend going to the Biltmore house and the Sierra Nevada brewery.

    Ashley2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The coolest location near downtown, from the front balcony you can see mountains to the left and the city to the right, but you still have some privacy with those huge blue spruce trees! You can hear live music from Wicked Weed across the street. Right next to all of the breweries, this place was perfect. We were heading up from a weekend hiking the Art Loeb and John was very accommodating with out late arrival! Would definitely book again!

  • The Gray Rock Inn was a very nice place to stay for a weekend in Asheville. The location is great for walking around downtown. The room was clean and nicely furnished. Jason, the on-site manager, was flexible and allowed us to check in early. He was easy to get in contact with via text message to answer any questions we had.

    Joellen2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great. John greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the surrounding area from the balcony and gave good recommendations on restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. The room was exactly as described in the listing. Everything was clean and we felt very safe. I was worried about sharing a bathroom with other folks but we never even saw the other people staying and never had to wait on a bathroom/shower. The best thing about this room is the value for the location. The location is right across from Wicked Weed Brewing, which is one of the best breweries in town. Its also within a short walk of a ton of other breweries, restaurants, and sights. Hotels in the area were all well over $200/night. I highly recommend this listing if you're looking for something in downtown Asheville near near everything. Thanks for a great time, John

  • My second stay at this location was as good as the first. Great location, quiet, very nice room. Will be back soon

  • The place is historic but very clean and comfortable. I never had to wait for a bathroom. Even though it's a less traditional type of accommodation, everything was explained and clear. There were nice touches in the rooms like a refrigerator, sink, cups, plates and earplugs! There was even a sponge and dish soap to wash the dishes. You can't beat the location either. I loved the French Broad Food Coop next door and I was there at least once a day getting delicious coffee, toiletries or scones!

  • The location doesn't get any better. I had much more privacy than I expected. Despite the shared facilities, I don't think I ever saw another person in any of them. It was very clean and comfortable. I have found my go-to in Asheville.

This adorable throwback flat is located IN downtown. Private parking, walk everywhere. Epicenter of the south slope, you can walk to all the breweries within 5 minutes, anywhere downtown within 10 minutes. Second floor, 440 SQ FT apartment in historic house. 1 bedroom, living room with IKEA sectional/sofa bed, roku TV, equipped kitchen and bathroom with claw foot tub/ shower surround. In the same building as Studio C and Heart of Downtown listing, see reviews
Great downtown location and tons of charm. Things to note: If you are traveling with 4 people, there is space to accommodate but it will be tight in the living and sleeping area, hopefully you all like each other! TV has Roku with Sling and Netflix, etc...but not local channels for some sports and such, of course tons of breweries to walk to with games showing. No pets and no smoking on premises.
First mixed residential and office street in downtown, so a bit quieter but still lots of fun activity within seconds of the apartment.
  • Great location for doing a brew tour on your own. Easy to get to certain areas of shopping and dining with a reasonable walk. Getting to art district would be a short drive.

    Lisa2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! You cannot beat this location. We walked everywhere and had some really fantastic food and beer. The apartment was exactly like the pictures. Check in and out was super easy. The place was clean, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. I would definitely recommend B Flat to anyone wanting to have a great Asheville experience.

  • This place is in a great location and super cute! You can walk to anything downtown within 10 minutes and you're right next to a lot of breweries. The apartment is great and has everything you need for a stay in Asheville. Highly recommend it!

  • We were pleased to find comfortable and clean accomodation which matched the description that Showee and Don provide on the website. Initially we backed our car off the street right up the narrow driveway to the door making it very convenient for unloading luggage. The small cottage/bungalow is also close to downtown Asheville and restaurants and indeed we walked over for a convenient breakfast at a nearby bakery and then just continued walking all over downtown Asheville. Once again we had no surprises on our stay here and I'd certainly come back here although for a larger vehicle it's perhaps easier to park at the bottom of the driveway.

    Alan2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Great location! Thank you, Don!

    Sawyer2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Location!!! Super cute and comfy studio with a private entrance (self check-in!) The bungalow was a five minute walk from the downtown area and Don allowed us to park our car in the driveway which meant that we didn't have to worry about parking. We were so thankful to have such a conveniently located Airbnb in such a fun, lively, and beautiful city!

    Kathleen2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great private spot for a couple visiting Asheville. Clean with great amenities, and a quick walk to where all the action is.

    Dan2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The location is very convenient to access central downtown. The cottage is so cute and tucked back off the main road. Don was quick to respond to us and we would definitely stay again!

    Frazer2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Don’s home was adorable, clean, super comfortable and in the best location ever! We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% stay here again. We walked EVERYWHERE and thought that was so fun. It was a short walk to everything but also super short uber or drive if that’s your preference. Although the home is right behind Don’s we had full privacy and never even saw her. Don’t forget to bring your keurig pods because there is one in the room! We forgot but it was okay because there were tons of coffee shops to walk to. Thank you again Don for a wonderful stay! Your home was perfect!

Montford is an adorable historic district right in the heart of downtown Asheville. The coffee shop is a 3 minute walk, the neighborhood pub, a 4 minute walk, delicious local restaurants, the greenway that takes you to the botanical gardens and UNCA where the tailgate market is happening every Saturday morning. Or you could head into downtown, 3 blocks in the other direction to find all of the eclectic shops, food, breweries and music that make Asheville worth visiting,
  • The cottage and neighborhood were lovely. Kelly stocked the place with snacks, which was a nice touch, and the decor was adorable. Everything was spotless. I loved that it was an easy, quick walk to downtown Asheville.

    Lizette2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great stay at Kelly's place. The location was perfect, we walked into town several times with our young girls. They thought it was fun to be able to walk everywhere! The place was clean and nicely decorated, very cozy. We felt right at home! Kelly was available for questions and offered suggestions on things to do in the area. We look forward to another visit!

  • Kelly and Rick’s space was in the perfect location! We were able to walk downtown due to its close proximity. The space was adorable and just the right size for 2 people, accented with thoughtful touches (including fresh flowers). They went above and beyond with river float recommendations/help and were so sweet! Thank you!!

    Lacee2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly and Rick are great hosts. Their space is super clean and comfortable. They go the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable and their communication is excellent. We arrived much later than expected on our first night and Kelly had the pull out all ready for us. The snacks were perfect for the our hike. We were constantly on the go while we were there and it was such a comfortable space to come back to. I am just sorry we forgot to write in the guest book!

    Rachel2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem is perfect walking distance to downtown, and also to a gorgeous cocktail bar (that also serves food) just blocks away. The kitchenette (no sink, but with a water dispenser and a little fridge) is perfect for basic breakfast and snacks, and there's a lovely sitting area as well as the bedroom and bath. It's also very close to UNCA, so was perfect for a visit with my daughter there.

    Donna2019-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and lots of nice touches from the hosts. They let us check in a little early and were always quick to respond when we needed to communicate with them. A variety of breakfast items and snacks waiting for us, plus a perfectly air conditioned space was exactly what we needed during our stay. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Asheville!

    Caroline2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy, adorable, and easily walkable from downtown. It was perfect!

Residential charm with downtown living Great neighbors No need for a car
  • We really enjoyed our visit to Asheville and our stay in Studio C. The apartment is the perfect size and the location can't be beat. Close to restaurants, breweries, etc.

  • Amazing place and amazingly close to everything downtown in Asheville

    Will2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in an absolutely PERFECT location. That is bar far it's best quality. Bed is comfortable, water is hot, plenty of room to spread your things out and get organized. It's not a "room with a view" so to say, but you're only a 2 minute walk from cafes, bars etc. Much better than any hotels.

    Grant2017-10-13T00:00:00Z

  • Great location!

    Juliana2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a night sleep if you’re going to be out in town all day. There is very low lighting in the room (only one dim ceiling light) and it is pretty depressing if you plan to be spending time there during the daytime. The floors needed cleaning and there were no amenities other than hand soap, shower soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was no dish soap, hairdryer, etc. and the utensils seemed dirty. There were very few towels also. Jonathan was an amazing host. He was very responsive and gave great suggestions about sights to see, music, restaurants, etc. I loved how dog friendly everything was. Our stay was exactly what we needed for a weekend away but I do think it was overpriced for the lack of cleanliness and amenities.

    Julianna2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very basic. Great location. Could use some lamps (the overhead lighting is really harsh) and little things like a bath mat, rug in the main room and dish soap to make it more comfortable/usable. But nice host and dog friendly.

    Ashley2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was a perfect spot to walk to downtown or to the arts district. The hallway was quite noisy with people and dogs, and the headboard would clang sometimes in the night so if you're a light sleeper, this probably isn't for you, but wasn't too much of a problem for us!

    Amanda2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot and walking distance to some cool downtown spots!

    Melanie2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The building is older but adds to the charm. The location is close to everything, easily accessible to both the downtown area and the breweries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and John was a great host. He made our late arrival check-in easy.

    Katie2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan is super friendly, quick to reply and will give you a list of his favorites in the city. The apartment is a 2 minute walk to the city so the location is perfect. There is an air conditioner in the unit despite what the amenities say.

    Erin2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AWFUL. There’s no air conditioning, the paint was peeling off the ceiling in massive flakes, the window does not lock and the place had a terrible damp smell (so bad we had to wash EVERYTHING we had). It stated having a full kitchen, but it doesn’t even have a microwave. The place is SO LOUD, every time someone enters the building you hear it and you can hear EVERY WORD of what the neighbors tv said. The entire place looks like it was renovated by a CHILD. In total this place cost $160 for one night, and absolute RIP OFF! Pay $10 and you can stay at the Aloft hotel that is smack downtown, not down some sketchy dirty street.

Please read *expectations in “the space.” The heart of downtown is just a short 15 min walk away & Orange Peel is a 13 min walk away. We have a sometimes loud toddler in the house & we share one bathroom. Once booked, please be sure to read the House Manual. On Tues, a sitter will be watching our boy in the common space & our bedroom. Also before booking please upload a gvmt id to your profile. We require all of our guests to have a verified gvmt issued ID and host recommendation Thank you!
*expectations: Scammers: If I have any suspicion that something is in your inquiry is off I will immediately report your account. We find that a handful of past guests who have not read the information on the host pages entirely, both before and after booking, tend to be the rare individuals to leave less than glowing reviews as a result of misplaced expectations. So as to make your experience the best possible, we recommend reading the provided information in its entirety to see if our space is a good fit for your expectations. Booking We offer one night stays during the week, but two nights minimum on the weekends. Homestay This homestay is our primary residence which means your room is private and the common areas & washroom are shared. And that we have a toddler who talks loud. So if you plan on sleeping in late we have provided ear plugs in one of the dresser drawers. There is one bedroom available for your stay. It has been our nursery in the past and now has a queen bed and a sunset view toward downtown and the mountains. There is one shared jack and jill bathroom off of the living room. The living room has a couch and a hammock. Travel time The heart of downtown is just a short 15 minute walk away and the Orange Peel venue is only a 13 minute walk away. Once booked, please be sure to read the House Manual in the app. House manual likes being read. :) We love our condo in Downtown Asheville. From our condo, it's an easy stroll to downtown to get a cup of coffee, enjoy dinner or drinks, stroll through an art gallery, or catch a baseball game. We are far enough out, though, that we still get a restful night's sleep. You will also have access to the kitchen, living room, bathroom, wifi, and parking. Our home is pet-free. Pets are not allowed due to slight allergy. The Biltmore Estate is about a 10 minute drive. The Grove Park Inn is about a 6 minute drive. A plethora of restaurants are in 12 minute walking distance or a 5 minute drive. The River Arts district is about an 8 minute drive away as well. One of the access roads to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 1/2 mile away. Our building was built in 2008 and has a modern style. There is a bus stop down the hill, though you would not need it to access downtown areas. We are also within 1 mile of a traditional grocery store and a co-op. Asheville is very cyclist friendly, so let us know if you have cycling questions. We love showing off our city, so if you are up for suggestions on favorite restaurants or places not to miss (French Broad Chocolate Lounge!) then we would be glad to advise. Some of these tips are in our guidebook and a picture of food suggestions in the pics. We also love the outdoors and can give you tips on great hikes. We have an iron and ironing board. The washer and dryer is limited for use during your stay upon request. Once you are booked, please be sure to read the House Manual in the app, it will answer most if not all your questions as we are typically not available on site for check in. We have a toddler, so there are some toys around the house. Our home is somewhat "baby-proofed" but if you are traveling with a little one you are still responsible for your child's safety. Parking at our condo is free. If you're driving downtown, rather than walking, event parking can range from $5 to $10. Mon - Saturday street parking meters don't charge after 6pm. You'll likely spend about a dollar an hour at most parking decks and metered parking. Take plenty of quarters for metered or you can use the passport parking app. Uber ride is about $5 We are a legally recognized Homestay permitted by the city of Asheville. The definition of a Homestay means this is our primary residence. Short term vacation rentals (29 days or less) are restricted in Asheville city, but we do have permission to operate for short term rentals as a licensed homestay. Check photos for permit. (The photo is cropped to protect our address and other information.)
Our neighborhood is convenient to downtown though not amidst the traffic and noise.
  • My boyfriend and I loved staying here! They were so generous, polite, respectful and HAPPY! I love people who are enjoying life and they surely seemed like they were! Our biggest thing was being able to walk downtown and we did every morning and night! It was only about a 10 minute walk and it was beautiful downtown! definitely recommend staying here! The only thing is there is one bathroom that y'all share, so if you don't mind doing that then this is definitely the place for you! It worked out fine, Rebecca would text us when she needed the restroom and we did the same! It was great!

    Taylor2013-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as expected!!! Easy to find a parking lot, walking distance to Downtown, clean bedroom & bathroom! It was easy to enter the apartment. We had a nice chat with Michael & Rebecca...they are well traveled people and can share great stories. We only stayed for one night, but would come back anytime!

    Will2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca's apartment is immaculate and on the first floor of a new building. She was correct in her description that it is about a 12-minute walk to downtown, which was very nice for us as we went back and forth to eat great food and listen to live music. Rebecca and her husband were out of town during our stay, so we didn't get to meet them, but we really enjoyed the spacious, comfortable accommodations.

My space is unique because it is located in the Lexington Market area which is the Haight Ashbury type of neighborhood of Asheville. Guests can have a luxurious bath or show in the separate shower with 2 shower heads. Sink, plates, refrigerator, microwave and we have just added a picnic backpack with separate plates, utensil, glasses with a hot cold storage compartment for food. It even has a wine bottle cooler. For those beautiful days you just don't want to wait inside to eat, it will help you to utilize the local deli's and grocery stores. In unit laundry in case your travels become interesting and a Roku tv w/blue tooth stereo for in unit entertainment. The unit also has a dedicated parking space #B25, which is priceless downtown.
Right downtown. Half a block from 2 of the 3 vinyl record stores in Asheville. 1 block from Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's. 3 blocks from South Slope. Walking distance to breweries and eclectic (Non-corporate) local shopping, restaurants and local live music venues. ! block from Asheville Music Hall, Asheville one stop, 5 Walnut, Mtn. Madre, The Vault. Across the street from the Civic Center. 1 block from Food Lion Skate Park. Lots more within 2 blocks the entire downtown within 5 blocks. Park your car in space #B25 and leave it for your entire stay.
  • John's place was great! It was extremely clean, and in a perfect location! We were able to walk to bars, shops, breweries, restaurants etc and the free parking at the condo was very nice to have in such a prime location! The place was very clean and comfortable and John was always quick to respond! We would definitely stay where again!

  • This is an amazing place to stay. It's very well decorated and comfortable, in a new building, and truly in walking distance to everything downtown Asheville has to offer. I highly recommend this place. I have to mention the bathroom amenities, too. The apartment has a deep soaking tub and a large shower with dual shower heads! John was very quick to respond and had recommendations for Asheville.

    Daryn2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We just enjoyed a 4 nite stay (4/3-4/7) at John’s apartment “The Hill on Lexington Market” and we agree with all the prior positive reviews. This unit is perfectly located and walking distance to all of downtown, with a private designated parking spot included. The building is super quiet and clean. The unit is impeccably clean & well appointed with a bedside tabletop usb charger outlet and plenty of electrical outlets throughout. John has included coffee, filters, sugar and powdered creamer, with kitchenware and utensils. The coffeemaker seems new. There is a hairdryer & curling iron & Softsoap pumps at the sinks with pump soap & conditioner in the shower. Separate tub, double head shower, plush towel set. He responds quickly, kindly & knowledgeably. We hope to return soon.

    Shannon2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Prior to arriving, John's communication was excellent. Very quick responses and lots of local recommendations. The space was just as expected and perfect for 2 people - it is small but roomy with kitchen space for things, an awesome shower and queen bed. It also comes with a guest spot. By far, the best part of this place is the location. Right in the heart of downtown and no more than about a 5 minute walk to the main parts of downtown - Broadway, Walnut, Lexington, etc. We never had to take an Uber or cab. Great for exploring the area!

This comfy hideaway is a very unique space. I like to consider it an art lovers creative space. Tucked in the middle of downtown Asheville, this unit provides maximum comfort, front and back yards for your fur babies, a short walk to all things downtown AVL, a short drive to all the best hiking, and a community of wonderful souls that are always happy to point you in the right direction. You will love staying here!
The neighborhood is great! It is diverse, and full of Asheville flare! We love where we live, and are certain that you will as well!!!!
  • We stayed here for one night as part of a cross country road trip, and Jonathan's place was perfect. It was clean and in a great location - just a short walk to downtown Asheville. We booked very last minute and had a little trouble with the check in process, but Jonathan was very responsive and helped us out right away.

  • John was awesome, super friendly guy, really fast to communicate and very accommodating. The pictures don’t do justice to the place. It’s such a cool spot in the perfect location. We wish we could have spent more time here but we will definitely be back!

  • Great location, walking distance to everything in downtown Asheville. Jonathan was an excellent host.

    William2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little basement apartment mere blocks from downtown everything. Super clean and cozy. Maybe not perfect for light sleepers/sound-sensitive folks, there's a little neighbor and street noise, but nothing unexpected from such a location.

    Mac2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay at Jonathan’s place! I will definitely be back!!

This cozy, downtown hideout is the perfect place to escape reality and take in everything Asheville has to offer. Steps from all of the breweries, bars, restaurant's, shops, etc. You can find outdoor adventures galore in a short drive, or take a $5 uber to historic west asheville. Our eclectic neighborhood will make you fall in live with Asheville at first site. We look forward to hosting you!
  • We decided to stop in Asheville on the way back to DC. I had my labradoodle puppy so we needed a place that was pet friendly. We booked Jonathan’s place about an hour before we arrived. He responded quickly. The spot was tidy and Asheville is small so it was easy to get to local attractions. The only downside was the tv was not working and we rented a movie.

    Ambriah2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance to everything in downtown Asheville, which is what we were looking for. Jonathan was responsive and professional. Perfect place for a short stay for two people.

    Jaren2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking around town. Everything you need for a wonderful Asheville stay.

    Joe2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location was fantastic and the place was very comfortable. We walked to all of the great resturants, breweries, and events in Asheville. The host provided recommendations of things to do and it helped to have a local perspective.

    Amy2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect location for a stay in Asheville. Plenty of space and Jonathan is quick to respond to messages!

    Kris2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location can’t be beat. We’ve been to Asheville several times and we were thrilled to be so close to all of our favorite breweries and restaurants. Everything on south slope is within a 5-10 minute walk. Being able to travel with our dog was a definite plus. The space is more studio like with a kitchen space and bedroom attached. Everything we need for a stay in Asheville as we spent most of our time hiking and walking the city. As others have mentioned, if you’re a light sleeper or have issues with sleep this may not be the best option for you. The unit is adjacent to the front entrance and next to a large night club/bar. Noise is to be expected being so close to downtown.

    Lindsay2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great apartment in the perfect location! Everything we wanted to do was walkable. Also, the place felt safe, was clean, and even had coffee! :) Definitely recommend!

  • We felt very welcome, and the description is accurate. Everything was exactly as we expected it to be. Holly was helpful and easy to communicate with. We would happily stay again.

  • We loved staying at Holly's home! Fantastic location and super clean, comfortable house. Will be back!

    Jenny2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Holly’s home is fantastic! It was super clean, spacious, and cozy without being cluttered. I fell in love with the shower and every aspect of the home was comfortable and inviting. The next visit, to Asheville, will certainly warrant a stay here and a much longer one at that!

    Heather2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Holly was a wonderful host! We ended up arriving in Asheville, NC earlier than expected, and Holly was very accommodating in our request to check in early. Unfortunately, her home was being cleaned after the last visitors checked-out, but she allowed us to park our car in the driveway and wander into town. The neighborhood was safe and clean. Our first night was unfortunately marred by neighbors playing drums VERY LOUDLY for what felt like hours on end. Luckily we had my toddlers noise machine and it helped drown out the noise enough to get some sleep. The location of this home is a short walk (approx 10-15 mins) from town/restaurants etc. Holly's home is clean, wonderfully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a washing machine and dryer. I would definitely stay again!

    Melissa2015-08-19T00:00:00Z

  • We booked Holly's house for a bachelorette weekend and it was absolutely perfect for the occasion! The house was immaculate, well decorated, and in a great, convenient location. The beds were super comfortable and the house was spacious. Holly even left us some chocolates, a bottle of wine, and some coffee! I highly recommend this listing!

This one bedroom, one bath studio is located in the back of my beautifully restored 1920s bungalow in downtown Asheville.
The studio apartment, located in the back part of my house, is decorated with a mix of modern and vintage furniture. Some have been in my life for a long time, some brand new to the space, and art made by me hangs on the walls. There's a small kitchenette with table and chairs, a bedroom with exposed brick from an old cooks stove and a living area with a futon-style couch. The full bath has a claw foot tub/shower that has a custom copper curtain rod and antique heirloom vanity. This is a perfect retreat for two people.
The beauty of the house not only lies in all of its charm, but also in it's location! There's a unique Whole Foods, called Greenlife, right across the street and Trader Joes is a couple blocks up from that. If you fancy yoga, Asheville Yoga Center is about three blocks away, on Liberty Street. In the other direction, a lovely greenway runs along Reeds Creek, or you can simply stroll around the eclectic neighborhood. Historic Montford, one the oldest neighborhoods (and in my humble opinion, the most beautiful), is a block away and the architecture is truly inspiring. My favorite coffee shop sits at the bottom of the street, called High Five Cafe. Don't let the hip tattooed baristas intimidate you- the coffee is delicious! Most importantly, all of downtown is just a 5-10 minute walk, complete with shopping, museums, restaurants, breweries, bars and music venues.

    Florian2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Christal's apartment was adorable and she was super friendly and accommodating. She has a great aesthetic and was meticulous about amenities in the apartment.

    Anne2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is a gem. No complaints. Hope to stay at again!

    Katie2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic down-home, country living kind of place that fits the spirit of Asheville and North Carolina. Very spacious AirBNB that is easy to find and in walking distance to 3 grocery stores and a doable walk to downtown bars and restaurants. We loved the art, plants and many thoughtful touches that Christal provides. From great coffee and hand lotion to a comfy couch + a comfy chair and plenty of blankets. As a reader, I appreciated the many lighting alternatives. This place provided a great getaway after a day of exploring. Christal was easy to reach and responsive to questions.

    Patricia2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described and shown in the listing. The apartment is clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything you'll need during your stay. Christal was a great host and made the entire visit easy. Would gladly stay here again.

    Matt2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Christal gave us privacy, but also was available for anything we may have needed. As an Asheville native, I appreciated her small touches like appropriate recycling bins, plants, chairs on the patio to enjoy outside, etc. Walkable to downtown, as well as grocery stores and restaurants. Very clean and aesthetically pleasing escape! Would stay there again!

    Sarah2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, very clean and cute accommodations!

    Katie2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Christal was the perfect host and her private apartment was perfect too! We spent 4 nights in Asheville and couldn't be happier with the experience we had. The house is walking distance to all of the awesome grocery stores, restaurants, yoga centers, and massage spots. We took full advantage of the location and only left once to go tour the Biltmore. When a little rain kept us inside her access to Netflix enabled us to binge-watch half a season of TV. Her little kitchenette was perfect to save some money and we ate a simple breakfast/coffee at "home" every day. We only saw her one time and only heard her and her roommate a couple of times. We will certainly choose this place on our next trip to this cool town.

Located at walking distance from Downtown Asheville, just up the hill on a perfect location that will allow you to experience the most spectacular sunsets overlooking parts of the Blue Ridge Mountain & Downtown. Just 8 minutes walking and Downtown Asheville will welcome you to 30 breweries, 137 restaurants, mom & pop shops, art galleries, music venues & much more. As your host I'll provide you with a list of must visit attractions that cover everything from dining to spectacular hiking trails.
The interior space is bright with french doors that open up to a spacious balcony overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and part of Downtown Asheville. The interior features pop art on the walls, a book shelf with best sellers, board games, a smart tv with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO Go and Blue Ray player. The kitchen is delivered fully equipped with utensils so that you can dine-in if you prefer and a coffee maker also so that you can prepare and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning outside on the balcony where you'll enjoy the mountain view and the sound of birds near by. If you are planning to wash clothes there's a washer and dryer inside the unit for your convenience. You'll also find two available closet spaces to accommodate your belongings comfortably in addition to a dresser in the bedroom. Downtown is at walking distance and if you are planning to dine and drink there's really no need for a car. However if you insist in driving to Downtown there are parking garages in Downtown that will not charge for the first hour but will start charging $2.50 per hour after the free hour. There's also free city parking after 6 pm, but if they're full then you can find parking private parking lots that charge about $2.00 per hour.
  • Great location and view from the back porch. Check-in was difficult since we were locked out, and someone had to drive across town to give us the keys. Either way, Ruben was super responsive and helpful!

  • Chris's place is conveniently located with a short walk to downtown and a few minutes drive to the River Arts District if looking to do some sightseeing. His place is very clean with an open/loft layout. A good place to say if looking for the basics and accommodations for a weekend getaway.

    Michael2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

The Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village are just a 10 minute drive and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just a 15 to 20 minute drive. Whether you are looking for downtown excitement or the peace of the mountains, Downtown Inn is where you want to be in the heart of Asheville!
  • Decent hotel, but great location. Walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and breweries.

    Rachel2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is like hotel style room with much better breakfast than any other hotels. Location was fantastic, right down town walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Room was located toward the street and it was little difficult to sleep with the beeping crosswalk lights. Bed was comfy, sheets clean, very friendly staff.

    Greg2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for all of Asheville. Parking was easy and the hotel was clean and quiet. The general condition of the hotel needs an update. The breakfast room, although clean, was minimal for the breakfast offerings but satisfactory. We are light eaters. Thr rooms are clean and generally quiet but the rooms need to be updated.

    Richard2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice motel right in Downtown Asheville. Not the typical AirBnB-experience but very clean and good location. Breakfast was included and sufficient for us. We liked our stay here!

    Jan2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was not bad at all, considering how inexpensive it was. It was an outdated hotel, basically. But everything was clean and the room was spacious! They offered a laundry room with complimentary soap on my floor. The dryer didn't work (quarters weren't being accepted by the machine) but the boy working at the front desk was quick to assist me downstairs where I was able to bring my clothes to an employee dryer. The sink faucet was broken and I couldn't get the tub to drain, but that wasn't a huge deal to me since I only stayed overnight. My room was right across the street from a very rowdy frat house or something, which I didn't mind, but maybe not the best location if you're looking for a peaceful/quiet night!

    Maggie2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved having our dog stay with us in a convenient and comfortable place close to restaurants and things to do.

  • The downtown loft was perfect in everyway possible. The location is within walking distance to everything you could want in Asheville and the parking is very convenient and reasonable as well. Krista's response time was great and very helpful with detailed instructions on checking in and out which I appreciated. The loft is fully stocked with high end finishes and luxurious linens. The bed is very comfortable to ensure a pleasant night's sleep. She has thought of everything so all you need is to pack your clothes and toothbrush. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony sipping my morning coffee and watching the town come to life. I would highly recommend staying at this chic downtown loft and I will be returning soon I hope!

  • Great location in the heart of downtown. Good food, music, and shopping are all within 10 minutes walk or less. Host was very responsive. Unit was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and was every bit as advertised, maybe better.

  • Krista and Andy's place is amazing. Checking in was a breeze. Very clear directions about how to get into the building. The loft is even better than the pictures. Reminds me of a cool Soho loft... but with mountains in the distance. And I absolutely loved the unique vintage decor. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in and the loft was immaculate. I loved the buzz and energy around the building. And it's located directly across the street from one of my favorite restaurants in Asheville, Table. It was nice to to indulge at dinner and be just steps away from the loft afterwards. It's central to everything you want to do in Asheville. Don't miss the opportunity to stay in this amazing loft!

  • The room was perfect for my needs and in a great location. There were many breweries, bars and restaurants in walking distance. I had a great stay and would highly recommend this spot to explore Asheville and the surrounding area.

  • For the solo taveler i have been on my current wandering journey, this place was perfect. Enough accomodations for comfort when i needed it, enough great people in/out/around for good conversation for immersion into local culture. Great location central to everything at extremely reasonable rates. If youre looking for a comfortable place to lay your head at night, close to downtown breweries and great food, guidance on where to go, this is the place to go. I cant say enough great things about the gray rock inn and asheville. Also, john/tripp is a great, welcoming, and informative dude. Highly reccomend this place for someone looking to inmerse themselves in local culture. Thanks for reading.

  • This place rocks. Everything was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. The value is the best. Everyone is super nice. Kathleen communicated well and was very kind. I'd say it's one of the best airbnB experiences I've had. I'd definitely want to come back to Asheville to stay here again. Gray Rock Inn has a special energy. Thanks to everyone at this hostel!!!

  • This is the perfect spot for any explorer looking to check out Ashevilles beer scene. It’s right across from Wicked Weed and easily walkable to 5 other breweries. I stayed here during an educational program at White Labs and I didn’t have to drive anywhere all week, it was super rad. Great value for the experience.

    Amanda2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience. The room was clean and very comfortable. Location was perfect. Great for someone coming into town to enjoy the breweries, bars and restaurants. Was able to walk virtually anywhere. John was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended. Can't wait to come back again.

  • I had a great stay at GRI in Downtown Asheville! From reading other reviews, I expected the location to be fairly busy and loud but there were very few times where I heard excessive noise from outside or even ran into other tenants (but when I did I enjoyed meeting such kind and happy people). The room itself is exactly as pictured and is the perfect space to rest after a busy day downtown or hiking around the area- the bed is comfortable and the AC unit works well and kicks in quickly. The unit is right at the top of the stairs and the bathroom is only a few steps down the hall- I only had to wait for the bathroom one time during my 4 day/ 3 night stay. The bathroom has all the basics: shower, toilet, sink (also a sink in room), and even a full length mirror and the door has a working lock to ensure full privacy. All that downtown Asheville has to offer is only a 1-15 minute walk away and the Aloft parking garage is close and reasonably priced for both short and long term garage parking. I had a few unexpected difficulties on my way to Asheville leaving my ETA unknown and Peggy was so kind to work with me for checking in purposes. She answered any questions I had very quickly and I appreciate all she did to help me before my stay! You really can't beat the location if looking to be around downtown. If available on my next trip, I will definitely book this location again!

    Rachel2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay. The location can't be beat for exploring the south slope brewery scene and the surrounding mountains/forests. As advertised, this is a great basic room for a single traveler who would rather spend their time outdoors rather than indoors. Thanks to other review posts, I used the overnight parking at the Aloft as this was easier than trying to find a spot on the street during the busy weekend. I would stay here again if I returned as a single adventurer.

    Casey2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable, and right in heart of downtown / south slope. Not sure how I’ve missed this on earlier AirBnb bookings to A’ville, but for someone who is only using booking to sleep and shower, and will be out and about all the rest of the time, this is inexpensive and ideal.

  • Perfect location. There were shows at the Orange Peel across the street but it wasnt that loud. I didn't see anyone else my whole stay so it felt very private. Very clean. My only complaint was there wasn't any toilet paper the first day (they got it for me soon after).

    Dana2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great basic accommodations for a solo traveler in a great location. Like an updated, old-school rooming house. Shared bathroom was a non-issue: it was right outside my door and the in-room sink was very convenient. I don’t know if I’d pick this place if traveling with a significant other, but for me by myself it was a perfect, budget-friendly place to stay.

  • Fantastic value in the heart of the action. If you are an open minded “no frills” traveler, this is your place. Would book again

If history repeats itself, then may it always be a replay of Asheville’s Gilded Age. If walls could talk, then a centenarian newsroom would have some spectacular stories to tell. And if location is everything, then The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is the epicenter of all things Asheville. Welcome to the intersection of past & present, to stories of the Gilded Age, and to the ideal home base for Asheville vacations. Welcome to The Daily Condo 201 @ the Asheville Times Building.
Historic Building, Iconic Views! Heart of Downtown w/ Private Outdoor Space Once home to the Asheville Times, the local afternoon newspaper and now the city’s most antique-chic address, this is IT: a 1-bedroom, 1-bath, 500 square-foot condo that breathes Asheville history, embodies the Gilded Age spirit, and incorporates all the modern amenities of the 21st century. HIGHLIGHTS (many more details, below) ------------------ •• Stay in the Shadow of the Gilded Age •• → Asheville, built post-Industrial boom and riding so high it was almost Depression-proof, is unique among Southern cities. So, why would you stay anywhere but in the historic center? Located in the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, The Daily Condo 201 represents the heart of iconic Asheville: in the shadow the Jackson Building (check out that view!), at the start of the Urban Trail arts & history tour, and with easy access to the city’s exceptional dining, nightlife, and culture. Walk Score: 86 – “Very Walkable”! •• Historic yet Contemporary Design•• → From soaring ceilings to original hardwoods, from antique doorknobs to one-of-a-kind artwork, from leather seating to century-old balustrades, the Asheville Times Building preserves the old while incorporating all the must-have new. •• Private Outdoor space •• → Outdoor space may be hard to come by in downtown, but not at The Daily @ 120 College Street! Step out onto your own 160 square-foot, private brick-walled terrace: enjoy a meal (or just a drink) at the bistro table (seats 2), check out the western views over N. Market, and drink in that sunset. •• Walk in the Footsteps of ASHEVILLE’S EARLIEST NEWS REPORTERS •• → There’s nothing more Asheville than living, breathing history. The paper – which changed ownership and names from The Asheville Daily Gazette, to The Gazette-News, to The Times, to The Asheville Times – witnessed the Golden Age of William Sydney Porter (pen name: O. Henry), Thomas Wolfe, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, among other Asheville art royalty. Indeed, 120 College Street is THE creatively prestigious address in Asheville. •• Modern Amenities •• → From a 43” Smart TV’s wall-mounted in both the living room and BR, to streaming entertainment, dimmer lights to a street intercom system, blackout shades to keyless entry, portable speaker, and stainless steel appliances, The Daily Condo 201 in the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street has all the modern comforts you crave. •• Fast WiFi •• → Go on, upload that Asheville selfie! With fast WiFi, you’re as connected as you want to be. •• Easy Parking •• → You don’t need a car at 120 College Street but if you bring one, you’ll be happy to know that parking is easy to find, in lots, parking decks, and on street. •• Locally Managed •• → Don’t underestimate the value of having an Asheville local in your back pocket! From filling you in on secret, no-signage bars, to being on-call 24/7 to help in a late-night emergency, to remote-rebooting the WiFi at a moment’s notice, our 100% local service delivers both a great experience and peace of mind. •• Perfect for Groups •• → Traveling with other families or as a group? Good news! We manage three one- and two-bedroom properties at 120 College Street, to accommodate a total of 8 guests. ☀☀☀ Antique-Chic DESIGN ☀☀☀ The Daily Condo 201 at 120 College Street is a special place. It’s probably not like anything you have at home, but it is exactly the historic-yet-contemporary feel you seek in Asheville. It is historic. It is completely renovated. It is period-perfect. It is home. Or, a home-away-from-home, at least. Each of the three properties, The Gazette Condo 200, The Daily Condo 201 and The News Condo 202 the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street rises to 10-foot ceilings and blends select antiques with new pieces, modern furnishings with neutral tones, sleek lines with strategic pops of ebullient color. Architectural walls dull sound, the kitchen is fully stocked, the closets are custom, and the bathrooms are completely renovated. You’ll sleep like a baby, thanks to custom drapes and blackout shades. This is where modern meets old world, and it couldn’t be any more Asheville. It’s the perfect complement to your historic downtown experience, complete with a 160 square-foot outdoor terrace and bistro table seating for two. The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street was originally built in 1914 for the Asheville Gazette-News; (later, the Asheville Times), occupied 120 College Street until the 1930’s. Fun fact: In 1929, Thomas Wolfe would forever immortalize this time in his highly autobiographical first novel “Look Homeward, Angel,” a coming-of-age story that mirrored his life in Asheville and experiences at his mother’s famous boardinghouse, Dixieland, "the most famous boardinghouse in American fiction.” Just two blocks north on Market Street is the restored Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site and welcomes visitors Tuesday-Saturday. ----------------------------------
☀☀☀ Welcome ☀☀☀ Welcome to the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to The Asheville Times. Welcome to a historic building that still unfolds over original hardwood floors, five-panel doors, antique doorknobs, banisters, and railings. Welcome to a home-away-from home located above the Black Mountain College Museum and Art Center and with its own private terrace. A downtown condo, just footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops. Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it. Over 500 square-feet of historic space, The Daily Condo 201 offers a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, neutral tones and bright pops of green and yellow, solid woods and airy windows, architectural touches and high design. ☀☀☀ LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and overlooking Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. The Daily Condo 201 embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike. History: From the 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to many of Asheville’s historic landmarks, including the Vance Memorial, Monument Corner, the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, and Asheville’s historic Flatiron Building, not to mention numerous statues, plaques, and monuments that commemorate the city’s past. The renowned Blue Spiral 1 Gallery and Momentum Gallery are a couple of blocks away and the Black Mountain College Museum + Art Center is right downstairs. Festivals: From Downtown After Five (once a month, in summer) and the Lexington Avenue Arts Fest, to Drum Circle and Art in the Park, downtown Asheville and the River Arts District are ripe with arts, culture, and creative pursuits. ----------------------------------
  • Apartment was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Loved the outdoor seating area. Best of all, it was within easy walking distance of all downtown restaurants and shopping. Location was unbeatable!

    Evangeline2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is exactly as pictured and is great! We had an excellent stay there.

    Amy2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location...walking distance from everything downtown. It was a little noisy at night with the fire department and bars nearby, but ear plugs were provided!

    Erin2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is very stylish, comfortable and clean, situated on the ever popular College street close to everything. The apartment is in short walking distance to most of Asheville's best restaurants, shops and activities. However, the apartment is also located next door to a nightclub/parking lot/heavily trafficked street, which causes significant noise issues in the evening hours. Karen does her best to address this issue by providing ear plugs for guests.

    Alli2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, great location, comfortable. Very noisy.

    Cathie2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and close to the cheaper parking options within the city. Karen is awesome and gave great recommendations on things to do and where to park. The condo was sparkling clean and included wonderful amenities that were deeply thoughtful (big white fluffy towels, light in the closet, king size bed with a comfy duvet... so much more!). We would surely stay here again!

    Danielle2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I came to Asheville for a 3 day weekend and it was both of our first time visiting. The location is great, walking distance to tons of restaurants, shops and cafes. The apartment was extremely clean, and tons of thoughtful amenities like a bottle of wine, coffee, and makeup wipes! The bed and pillows were comfortable and the space was perfect size for us two and the balcony is great to get some fresh air and have a cup of coffee. I highly recommend this stay!

    Alexa2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place was the perfect location for our stay in Asheville. It was right in the heart of it all so my husband and I could walk everywhere and enjoy everything the city had to offer. Karen’s place is clean and inviting. The outdoor area was perfect for enjoying the complementary bottle of wine (thank you Karen!). The first night was a little noisy because of the people leaving the night club (parking is right next door) However, since we staying Saturday to Tuesday the rest of the nights were very peaceful. Karen does provide earplugs as other reviewers have said but after the crowd left, my husband and I were able to fall right back to sleep. Coffee with cream was also a very nice touch. We will most definitely be back!

My home is warm and inviting with all you'll need to enjoy yourselves. Large comfy Queen bedded 1st floor bedroom and bath off kitchen for your use. My bedroom and bathroom are upstairs.
There is a great coffee shop on my block and many grocery stores within a block and parking in front of or beside my house. Walking downtown is 1/2 mile past many great shops and restaurants and bars along Lexington Ave. I am also right near the yoga center and the Cellular center for concerts and events is 1/4 mile walk as well. Parking permit required to park. I provide a visitor permit.
  • The keyword is accuracy. Everything advertised about this accommodation is exactly as described. Very close to all the Asheville action but just far enough away to be quite and very comfortable. (It was a five minute walk to the very center of the city)

    Mel2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • V was very helpful and friendly. Everything was better than advertised. The parking, proximity to downtown/Trader Joe's and Whole Foods was great. We truly enjoyed our first Airbnb experience.

    Mark2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying at V's place! The location is perfect for walking into town. V was excellent at communicating before and during the stay. The house was set up so nice and she even provided us coffee and toast for the morning! The porch was our favorite spot to begin and end the day. My husband and I met V and her boyfriend the last night there and they were great to chat with but also gave us our space!

  • Velvet is the most attentive, hospitable, trustworthy, engaging, caring, fun host. I loved staying in her charming, comfortable home . Steps from Whole Foods and High Five, and 10-15 walk from Asheville made it an outstanding find. I so appreciated all the ways Velvet made me feel at home. I'll be back!

    Kimberly2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Velvet was a great host. She provided several extras (coffee, muffins, etc.) and lots of brochures for Asheville were available as well. Very personable and welcoming. Highly recommended host and home.

    Zach2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a wonderful experience with a lovely, wonderful host who keeps a spotlessly clean home in super proximity to all that Asheville has to offer. The only bad thing I can say is that I am so sad to leave.

    William2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Walking distance from all the things so you don't have to pay for parking (tip: parking is free after 6?!) and V's house is super clean and comfortable. 10/10 would book again.

If you want an in-town experience, this is it! Perfectly situated near downtown in a quiet neighborhood, you can enjoy both the upbeat energy of downtown day and nightlife while retreating to a cozy eclectic room with en suite bath when you need a break. The shabby chic decor along with original artwork provide a truly unique space. Lots of comforting extras have been curated with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. Snack preparation area to enjoy artisan coffee and organic teas. Located in a guest wing with separate entrance, you will have privacy. Smoking permitted only outside.
Comfortable bedroom with newly updated ensuite bath (with shower) in a separate guest wing. Inviting decor to enjoy. When I was creating this guest room the most important things for me were: fresh and clean, nice ambiance (decor), firm cozy bed, with quality linens, nice hot shower with good pressure and quality towels, and an area you can make a snack and tea/coffee. You have a semi-private entrance (I use the back entrance to let my pets out during the day) , so if you are out and about late, no worries. There is a true feeling of privacy in the back wing of the house. Green backyard with tables, chairs to relax - smokers welcome outside. 3 Blocks to downtown where you can enjoy shops, cafes, breweries, clubs and much more. Asheville Yoga is about 7 blocks and Whole Foods, Trader Joes about 3 blocks. Montford is really the best place to stay if you want to be close to town. Your safety is important to me - Locks on guest doors, fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, safety card, motion sensor lights by entrances, and off street parking etc.. My driveway can accommodate 2 medium size SUV. If you have a very large SUV or truck you may have to park on street (where my car is). I also have another space in the same location: Boutique Room, that is beautiful too!: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16733596 I have tried to think of all the necessities, lots of conveniences, and many luxurious extras. I want you to feel at home and pampered. Most of the beautiful photos were taken by an Airbnb photographer with a wide angle lens that does distort the room size. If there is something I missed, I am open to suggestions and requests.
Historic Montford is full of beautiful Victorian homes, tree-lined streets, and fabulous gardens. It's a great place to take a walk. The house is very close to downtown, 3 blocks from the Civic Center, shops, and cafes. Asheville Home Stay Permit 15 dash 15307
  • Great place. Perfect stay!

    Kristen2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first trip to Asheville N.C. and first time using AirBnB. I went soley on other people's review. Lizzy's place got glowing reviews. I can see why. The location is simply ideal. You really can't ask for a closer walk to downtown, yet the home is so quiet. Lizzy made our vacation perfect. After finding out we are vegan, she went and got us coconut milk for our granola, what a kind & thoughtful host. Very clean and comfortable room. Loved the separate entrance and driveway for our car. • Darling house walkable to downtown and good restaurants. Lizzie was very helpful in coordinating our last-minute request. She directed us to a great breakfast spot. Her room is very cute with so many little extras...like yogurt, granola, and grapes in the mini fridge.

  • Beautiful, clean and comfortable room in walking distance to downtown. Best thing was the light breakfast, great to start the day.

  • Lizzy's house is in an historic residential neighborhood within easy walking distance of downtown, and Lizzy herself is very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions you may have. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the mornings, but the homey touches of tea, fruit, and yogurt were so nice and made it worth my while to make the effort! I got to meet one of the dogs, and enjoyed being able to have little chats and pats with him when I did see him! I highly recommend this space if you are looking for a nice, comfortable place to stay while visiting Asheville. Lizzy has added a second room, which I managed to see on one of the rare occasions there wasn't a resident - both her spaces are cozy and very comfortable-looking!

  • Lizzy was a wonderful host. The check-in process was very clear and she communicated with us throughout the process. The room itself was spacious and we had everything we needed. Lizzy's home is adorable - very quiet and located in a cute historic neighborhood. I would definitely stay at Lizzy's again during our next trip to Asheville. Thank you!!
