The Carriage House: Beautiful Farmland Views.

The Carriage House is the second floor of our cedar stables that was turned into an apartment years ago. It was completely redone this spring and professionally decorated to make it a cozy + luxe retreat with views to die for. While we no longer use the stables to house animals we still keep a few head of cattle + sheep in the pasture for your enjoyment. The wall of windows along the back of the apartment offer you the most stunning views of the surrounding farmland and an unforgettable sunrise.

The Fisherman's Lodge at the 1858 Monkton Hotel

Love the outdoors? Love to fish, hike, bike, kayak? All of the above? The Monkton Hotel is a registered landmark that sits on the NCR trail, which runs along the Gunpowder River, home for some of the best trout fly fishing in the country. This fully renovated apartment, themed the "Fisherman's Lodge", is on the second floor and has the latest amenities. Nothing in the area matches the charm, convenience and history. An electric bike store, tube rental and great cafe are all in the same building.

Our 1919 charming home, surrounded by 50 acres of preserved land, is in an historic district and a stone's throw from the NCR hike/bike trail. We have tubes to float down the Gunpowder River which winds around our property and is accessible by foot. The bike path is lovely! Inverness Brewery is located 5 minutes away, Starbright farm is a glorious lavender farm 15 minutes north, Boordy Vineyards, a family run winery, is 20 minutes east, and Ladew Toipiary Gardens is another gem to behold!

Cabin is very charming, but rustic. Kitchen has full size frig, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, toaster+ keurig. Coffee, condiments, soap & shampoo provided. There is a gas grill. Guests provide their qs sheets, towels, campfire wood & drinking water. A variety of dvd’s & games, hot water in & outside shower & tub. Tubes for floating provided, swim your own risk. Fire pit, creek is stocked. Steps to deck overlooking the creek.Trash goes home with guests, smoking on the decks only.

Although the kitchenette doesn’t have a sink/water there is a Deer Park water cooler with hot & cold water, and supplies under bathroom sink to use for dish washing.

A secluded retreat that feels remote, but moments from the civilization you came to escape.

The area is surrounded by country and Amish charm, with nearby hiking trails, while a 30 minute drive will have you in downtown historic Lancaster City where you can stroll, shop and on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday visit the historic Central Market.

The Barn on Fox Alley is a repurposed garage built in 1999, transformed into a magnificent Amish barn that pays homage to Lancaster county’s rich heritage. Step inside, and you'll find yourself immersed in the warmth and character of a bygone era. The spacious interior of the barn is meticulously adorned with hand-hewn reused floors and reclaimed barn wood throughout.
