Das Markthaus ist ein historisches Kleinod und steht unter Denkmalschutz, ausgewiesen als erste Herberge der Sächsischen Schweiz. Das Haus rahmt den Marktplatz im Spiegelbild der Marktkirche unterhalb der Burgruine am romantischen Malerweg. Gewölbekeller und Grundmauern datieren auf 1527. Das Haupthaus wurde 1734 errichtet und als Ausspanne, Posthalterei und Wirtshaus betrieben. 1850 erfolgte ein massiver Anbau im klassizistischen Stil.
