Soho on Strand is a wonderful location in Cape Town, positioned in the heart of the World Cup festival atmosphere alongside the newly rejuvenated Cape Quarter and in walking distance of the stadium, V&A Waterfront, CBD and Convention Centre. This area has had tremendous cosmetic investment by the organising committee of the world cup, as it is positioned on walking route to the stadium that is popular for sporting fixtures and concerts. Whether you are wanting to indulge in Cape Town sight-seeing, sample the best of Cape Town cuisine, relax in a fashionable coffee shop, cocktail bar or browse the historical cobble stoned district, you will not need to stroll far from your front door. We are 30 mins drive from the Cape Winelands, 20 mins from the airport, 10 minutes from Camps Bay beach, 5 minutes from the Table Mountain cableway, and the CBD, V&A Waterfront, Convention Centre is in walking distance. Only one block away, The Cape Quarter newly restored heritage site, is home to some of the city's best restaurants, bars, boutiques, coffee shops, museums and piazza entertainment - set amongst the quaint cobbled stoned tree lined avenues of the historical Cape Malay area. Camps Bay Beach is a 10 min drive and the cable car to the top of Table Mountain is also a 10 min drive. Guests access the entire apartment, private balcony, shared swimming pool and barbecue area, reception area and resident's parking garage accessed directly from the lift. I do not live on the premises. In most cases I make use of the Airbnb self check-in facility because I prepare for guests in the morning and live too far away to be able to return to the city for late check in times. I am however constantly available on message and phone for enquiries and conversation. De Waterkant is a hip neighbourhood full of restaurants, cafes, and museums. Venture out to Bo Kaap nearby and explore its cobblestone streets, green spaces, and rooftop lounges. Both areas are within walking distance of the city centre.

Top notch restaurants, bars and nightclubs are within safe walking distance as well as the vibrant Cape Quarter and the V&A Waterfront shopping mall. The bright and airy cottage interior has high vaulted ceilings, together with a selection of books and magazines to read to enjoy in the bed made up with 400TC luxury linen. Battery backed up Wi-Fi and additional lights for surviving load shedding. No smoking allowed on property. Guests have own cottage with a private, shady courtyard. Herbs in planters in courtyard and dart board are available for guests to use as well as lemons on own lemon tree. We're an international family consisting of a South African, a New Zealander and a Norwegian. One of us will always be available on our phones and we're happy to chat and share a G&T on our porch if our guests are up for it! This guesthouse is in a quiet neighbourhood, about 15 minutes by car from town and near to vibrant Harfield. Closer still, the village offers a farm stall, butchery, and supermarket within a short walk, plus coffee shops and lots of restaurants. We always recommend uber for short term stays in Cape Town but there is an off-street sheltered parking available if needs be. 10 minute walk to Kenilworth train station and 2 minute walk from Main Road with frequent taxi buses in both directions.
