Takutai Seaside Beach House

Magical beach house meters from the beach, 3 elegant bedrooms, spacious character-filled lounge and modern kitchen/dining area all designed with larger families or couples travelling together. Fall asleep to the sound of the Tasman sea lulling you to sleep. The house is equipped for longer stays to make the most of the area and National park all within walking distance. Walk south along the beach to the Punakaiki lagoon or just 5 mins north to the Pancake rocks. A special place to stay awhile.

The Cottage at Strathowen

The Cottage @ Strathowen was the original farm house on our wee farm and was comprehensively renovated in 2025, this gorgeous 2-bedroom cottage will surprise. Located on a 75 acre small farm, located in the wonderful Owen Valley, 25 kilometres north of Murchison. The Cottage @ Strathowen has some lovely gardens, a small flower farm, and we often have sheep and cattle grazing in our paddocks. The property has gorgeous views of the Owen valley, the nearby mountains & Kahurangi National Park.

Honey House at Ruru Nest

Nestled next to Kahurangi National Park, is the closest BnB to the Heaphy Track Great Walk and the awe-inspiring Oparara Arches. A remote, private garden retreat complete with Labyrinth and off-grid hot tub (advance notice). This self-contained little house for 2 was once a Honey house. Ruru Nest Property is next to a river and farmland, just a few minutes outside of the village of Karamea with its cafes and pubs. Local food, nature connection walks available as extras to complete your stay.

An abundance of activities such as kayaking, surfing, mountain biking, walking, swimming and stand up paddle boarding await only a few minutes walk away.

A two storey "woodsy" beachfront home on an elevated site from which views of the Coast, Nikau and Rata forest can be enjoyed in the open plan living/kitchen area. The balcony puts you right amongst the natural scenery as does the courtyard with its open fire place for outdoor leisure.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families.

Take a break in this beautifully converted Bedford Bus with stunning views up the Lyell range and Matiri valley. Sits on the edge of the Kawatiri/Buller river right on the edge of town. Situated in its own plot of woodland, 20 mins from both Murchison & Lake Rotoroa (via Braeburn Track), in the beautiful Tutaki Valley overlooked by Mt. Murchison. Lovingly built by Grandpa Hope in the fashion of a Hebridean Byre using stone dug from the surrounding land this is a truly individual, off-grid, cosy hut.
