Stallion Box, Bungaree Station, Clare Valley

The Stallion Box is one of several converted accommodation buildings located on Bungaree Station. Once the stallion's stable, this self contained studio cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple with a queen bed, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.
