The only land in between our farm and the lake is a waterfowl preserve. Plenty of wildlife on the property and it is a wonderful spot to enjoy Flathead Valley.

Stoney Lonesome Retreat

Welcome to Stoney Lonesome Retreat. Why Stoney Lonesome? Not entirely sure, you can blame it on my great grandfather, old Fredrick Richard August Christian Uhde. He named the property back in 1972 and the name has stuck!!! My parents Elward and Susan purchased our property in the summer of 1969 for $500 and we have been here ever since. My brother and I were raised here and now my wife Gretchen and I are so proud to be raising our son Simon here. The third generation on this land.

Winter season is gorgeous! 4wd needed anywhere in Whitefish.

You’ll treasure this little barn-dominium. Enjoy the patio overlooking the entrance to Glacier National Park. You will have plenty of outdoor options. Big Mountain in Whitefish is just north and Flathead Lake is just south with a dozen lakes and hikes in between. We are just a short drive to two ski resorts and 45 minutes to the west entrance of Glacier National Park.
