Dove Cottage is a former Victorian fishing lodge in a unique setting on the banks of the river Dove. It is situated 3/4 mile from the pretty village of Alstonefield and 5 1/2 miles north of the bustling market town of Ashbourne. The cottage overlooks a tranquil stretch of river running through Wolfscote Dale and a historic former water mill. A riverside footpath passes the bottom of the garden leading north along the river to Hartington and south to Dovedale and the Stepping Stones.

Heather Cottage is a short 2-minute walk from Ashbourne. An ideal location to enjoy the plentiful cafes, pubs and shops without using your car. We are central for exploring the attractions of the Tissington trail, Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and many Peak District walks. Heather cottage is perfect for couples and is also pet and child friendly. It has a lovely decking area to relax outside or get cosy inside with a film and a take away!
